We are delighted to receive a cheque for an incredible £18,170 from Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace to support our Violence Against Women project.
The project helps vulnerable women who have experienced or are currently experiencing physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse. Specialist services include One-to-One Support – providing emotional, practical and advocacy support to women to address the issues in their lives- and a Women’s Group Programme, which provides a non-threatening space for women to meet together and build their confidence and self-esteem.
The company’s Charity Committee worked in conjunction with Aberdeen Cyrenians to raise money through various fundraising events during the course of the partnership, from a dinner dance at the Marcliffe in May 2014 where over two hundred guests generously donated, to Quiz Nights, a Burns Supper Night and numerous running events. Some members of the Firm have also volunteered at the Summer Street location to help out with different projects.
Aberdeen Cyrenians Depute Chief Executive Scott Baxter commented: “We’re extremely grateful to the team at Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace for this very generous donation. The cash raised will be used within our Violence Against Women Project, which, tragically, is experiencing a significant rise in demand. It’s essential that women who suffer abuse have somewhere to turn to and this money will help us provide them with specialist support to recover from their experiences.”
Heather Stephen, Partner of Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace and member of the Charity Committee, commented: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Aberdeen Cyrenians to raise such a fantastic amount of money. They are a worthy charity with a personable and dedicated team who work tirelessly and enthusiastically to deliver help, advice and support.”
