Christmas and Beyond…
The festive period can be a sad, distressing and lonely time for someone who is homeless or experiencing hardship. Over the past 49 years, Aberdeen Cyrenians has been doing everything possible to tackle homelessness, and at Christmas especially, we need to ensure our services are available to those seeking support.
Our appeal this year hopes to raise £60,000 to support some of our services over the winter period and into 2018 where we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary. Our Street Alternatives service will extend its opening hours opening for three full weeks to accommodate more people through the festive season offering free meals, access to showers and laundry facilities, and a Christmas meal and gift for each service user. While funding will also be needed to provide our residential projects with Christmas meals during the festive period.
Last year’s appeal received incredible support from businesses and individuals across the North-East during what has been a difficult financial time for many businesses, individuals and families. Last year the people of the north-east rallied round and supported us by donating goods and money worth around £60,000 to help run our services over the festive period. With more people accessing our services for support, we are appealing for your help to match or even exceed that total this year.
If you would like to make a donation to Aberdeen Cyrenians we are happy to receive these at our Head Office at 62 Summer Street Aberdeen AB10 1SD, if you prefer to send a cheque this should be made out to Aberdeen Cyrenians or you can make a donation to our work via Just Giving.
