The 16 Days of Action run from 25th November, UN International Day of Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10th December, Human Rights Day. The campaign spans these 16 Days in order to highlight the link between violence against women and human rights.
Our Violence Against Women and Domestic Abuse and Supported Accommodation Project will be teaming up with a range of services across the North East including, Police Scotland, Rape Abuse Scotland, Grampians Women’s Aid, Choices and more in order to raise awareness of this campaign and the services available.
Over the 16 days there are a range of events;
Tuesday 25th November – Police Scotland will launch their Disclosure Scheme for Domestic Abuse
Wednesday 26th November – Service User get together (closed event)
Saturday 29th November – Awareness Stall at Asda, Beach – everyone welcome
Sunday 30th November – Awareness Stall at Asda, Portlethen – everyone welcome
Monday 1st December – Domestic Abuse Drop-in, Deeside Family Centre (2pm – 4pm)
Saturday 6th December – Awareness Stall at Asda, Middleton Park – everyone welcome
Sunday 7th December – Awareness Stall at Sainsburys, Garthdee – everyone welcome
Monday 8th December – Domestic Abuse Drop-in, Deeside Family Centre (2pm – 4pm)
Throughout the 16 days, Look out for the City Center Projects displayed by Police Scotland sharing contact details for a range of North East Services supporting those affected by gender violence. Choices will also be hosting a number of Lunchtime Media Literacy Session at various school locations, these are closed events available to pupils only.
